A History of the Honda Civic
Honda introduced the Civic in 1973, just in time for an oil embargo and a decade of rising gasoline prices. The exceptional fuel economy and dependable performance of the first-generation Civic would become this model's hallmarks, which continue to this day. However, the Civic was not the only compact model on the market at the time. What helped set it apart from its rivals was its reliability and superior performance.
