What Makes a Used Honda Pilot Great for Union City

The Honda Pilot is a great choice for drivers looking for a used Honda for sale near Union City. The Pilot is a reliable, family-friendly SUV, but it's also much more than that; it's built for those drawn to adventure and who want to enjoy their share of premium features without breaking the bank. You probably have some questions, and we hope to answer them today with our look into why the Pilot could be perfect for folks like yourself.

Family Matters

The Honda Pilot is ideal for families because it's comfortable, large, and reliable. Your family will spend hours inside the Pilot as you drive from one destination to another, whether it's a ride to school or a family vacation to the gang's favorite spot. The Pilot has room for eight passengers with the second-row bench seat; substituting the bench seat for captain's chairs lowers the passenger capacity to seven, but it's worth considering if you'll regularly have two adults in the second row.

Before we discuss the interior amenities of the Pilot, let's explore its passenger and cargo space, both of which are plentiful. Cargo space may differ depending on the trim you buy, but the results are always impressive. The Touring trim provides the best average cargo space; if we use a 2025 Pilot Touring as a reference, it has up to 22.4 cu.ft. of space with passengers in all three rows, 60.1 cu.ft. of space if you fold down the third row, and then an impressive 112.4 cu.ft. of space if you fold both rear rows. The TrailSport has 113.7 cu.ft. of max storage space—the SUV's most. Ultimately, the Pilot has enough cargo space for family vacations, camping trips, or driving the kids and all their gear to sports practice.

The Honda Pilot's large cabin isn't just great for storing cargo; the driver and all its passengers will be comfortable, as this model is spacious with exceptional headroom and legroom for each row. The legroom for all three rows is identical across the trims, but the Sport and EX-L have slightly more front and middle-row headroom measurements than the others.

Using the Sport and EX-L for reference, you and the front passenger have 40.5 inches of headroom and 41 inches of legroom. Passengers in the middle row have an excellent 40.2 and 40.8 inches of headroom and legroom, respectively. The third-row measurements are the most impressive because some other three-row SUVs tend to fall short, whereas the Pilot has 39.3 and 32.5 inches of headroom and legroom, respectively. Nearly three feet of third-row legroom means nobody fights for a second-row seat to avoid sitting in the back!

A Comfortable Ride

Driving a Pilot will get you from A to B comfortably while having fun. For starters, the 2025 Pilot comes standard with a versatile ten-way power-adjustable driver's seat with 2-way power-lumbar adjustment. Every trim has a standard 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat, which your front-row passenger will be grateful to have thanks to it being easier to find the comfort sweet spot. The front row has heated seats with every trim, but opting for the Elite or Black Edition extends the function to the outboard second-row seats. Ventilated seats are standard on these two trims, where the seats are made with perforated leather.

You should consider opting for any trim above the Sport if you share the Pilot with a spouse, relative, or roommate because two-position memory is active for the seat and side mirrors. If whoever you're sharing your Pilot with has a vastly different seating position preference than you—or moves your side mirrors just out of your view—then having two memory profiles means you no longer need to tweak everything back to your liking before you hit the road.

The 2025 Pilot has a standard Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control System with built-in Humidity Control. This allows you, your front-row passenger, and the second-row passengers to have separate temperature control. Upgrading from the Sport adds a dedicated control panel for second-row passengers, meaning your kids can turn up the heat during a road trip while you want it cold upfront. The Pilot will keep you warm during those cold Union City winters thanks to its heated seats, dedicated climate zones, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel standard with the TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition trims.

Connectivity Tech

Every 2025 Pilot has multimedia features that provide entertainment and connectivity via the touchscreen interface. The base model has a 7-inch touchscreen, where you can navigate media or access Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. A 7-inch driver information display is also standard, displaying your instrument gauges digitally; the Elite and Black Editions instead use a 10.2-inch display.

Every trim but the Sport includes the larger 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, complete with physical audio controls. This upgraded infotainment center has several additional features that make it perfect for drivers looking for a modern experience. The 9-inch infotainment center includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio and SiriusXM Radio support, and an in-car PA system known as CabinTalk, where you no longer need to raise your voice for the passengers in the far back to hear you: simply speak and a microphone will project your voice through the rear speakers.

The Sport has seven speakers throughout the cabin and a built-in subwoofer; this creates pungent bass you usually don't find on base-level audio systems. You also don't regularly find standard audio systems outputting 240W of power, like the one in the 2025 Pilot Sport. Stepping up to the EX-L or TrailSport upgrades you to a 245W system with two additional speakers, bringing the total to nine. The Touring, Elite, and Black Editions have the best sound systems, with 12 high-quality speakers and a subwoofer courtesy of Bose. Every trim but the Sport also has a standard wireless phone charger, providing efficient and tetherless charging to any Qi-compatible device.

Solid Performance

Detailing the performance of the 2025 Honda Pilot is easy because there's one powertrain across its six trims. Every 2025 Pilot has a 3.5L V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard, and all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional with the Pilot, but its maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs remains either way. The 2025 Pilot outputs 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque, providing decent performance even at the base level.

The Pilot is a highly efficient SUV for its size. You'll get EPA-estimated ratings of 19 MPG in the city, 27 MPG on the highway, and 22 MPG combined in FWD; models with AWD achieve the same city figure but earn 25 MPG on the highway and 21 MPG combined.[a] Having stability while driving on complex terrain or in harsher weather conditions is a highlight of the Pilot; up to seven individually selectable drive modes are available, including Normal, Econ for greater fuel efficiency, Sport for improved acceleration, and dedicated Sand, Snow, Trail, and Tow modes. These help the Pilot be versatile, making it perfect for adventurous drivers and their families.
